Privacy Policy

SewaPay collects only what it needs to complete your payments and keep them safe. This page explains what that is and what we do with it.

1. What we collect

  • Your email address — to send receipts and payment updates, and to link payments to your account.
  • Your name and profile picture, if you sign in with Google.
  • Payment details — the service, recipient phone number or account ID, amount and status. When we look up a bill, the provider may return the account holder's name and account details, which we show you and keep with the payment.
  • Card details are never seen or stored by SewaPay. They're entered directly into our PCI-DSS certified payment processor. We only receive the payment result and basic details such as the card type.
  • Technical data — your IP address and basic request logs, used to prevent fraud and abuse.

2. How we use it

  • To process your payment and deliver your top-up or bill payment.
  • To send receipts, refund confirmations and other updates about your payments.
  • To show your payment history and "Pay again" shortcuts.
  • To prevent fraud, enforce limits and keep SewaPay secure.
  • To meet our accounting and legal obligations.

3. Who we share it with

We never sell your data. We share only what each partner needs to do its job:

  • Our card payment processor — a PCI-DSS certified processor that handles your card payment.
  • Our licensed payment partners in Nepal and the service provider (e.g. Ncell, NTC, NEA, WorldLink) — receive the recipient number or account ID and amount, to deliver the payment.
  • Email and hosting providers — send our emails and run our website and database in secure cloud data centres.
  • Google — only if you choose to sign in with Google.

We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect against fraud.

4. International transfers

SewaPay serves customers worldwide, and our partners operate in several countries, so your information may be processed outside the country you live in. We only use providers that protect it with appropriate safeguards.

5. How long we keep it

Payment records are kept for as long as we need them for accounting, refunds, disputes and legal obligations. Account information is kept while your account is active. When you ask us to delete your data, we delete everything we aren't required to keep.

6. Cookies and storage on your device

  • A sign-in cookie keeps you signed in. It isn't used for advertising.
  • Your checkout in progress is saved in your browser tab, so a page reload doesn't lose it. It's cleared when you close the tab.
  • "Pay again" shortcuts for guests are saved only in your own browser. You can remove them anytime.

7. Security

All traffic is encrypted, card data never reaches our servers, and access to payment records is limited to staff who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

8. Your choices and rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing support@sewapay.com from the address you used with SewaPay. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local law. We'll respond within a reasonable time.

9. Children

SewaPay isn't intended for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

10. Changes to this policy

We'll update this page when our practices change. The date at the top shows the latest version.
